Used Book Drive

ASB will be conducting a Used Book Drive in honor of International Literacy Day (September 8th). Used books can be donated to Room 12 and AVID classrooms. All used books will be donated to countries in need. Below is a sampling of countries that will receive your generous donation:
Botswana, Cambodia, Cameroon, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Mali, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Philippines,
Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
In addition, our school's invovlement will make students eligible for a college scholarship to be awarded later in the school year. The amount of the scholarship will be based on the number of used books we donate in the following categories: (all books must have a ISBN typically found on the back cover of the book)
- New/ used college books
- Books that cover agriculture, anthropology, business, computer science, economics, education, engineering, English, fine arts, foreign language, geography, history, law, literature, management, mathematics, medicine/ health, natural science, performing arts, philosophy, physical science, political science, psychology, sociology
- Travel books
- Gently used children's books
- Hardcover fiction and nonfiction
- Mass market paperbacks

The Spirit Bus leaves at 1:30pm. All students must have a permission slip on file with Ms. Check in order to ride. Each ride on the Spirit Bus is $5.oo and $2.00 with an ASB Card. Extra money for entry fees and snacks is strongly suggested.
The game starts at 3:30pm at Public Safety Academy's Community Park.

National Heart Day Fundraiser

Students and staff can purchase a plush heart from ASB for $3.00 to be delivered to a special someone on National Heart Day (September 24th). Deliveries will included the selected plush heart, a message, and balloons.
